TOPIC: THE GOODNESS OF VISION (1-5)

SERVICE OBJECTIVES:
• Understanding the goodness/ benefit of vision in the life of a person
• Accessing the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation to facilitate Divine visions and revelations
THINGS TO NOTE:
• Vision is the capacity to see the future
• Vision is key to greatness in life
THE GOODNESS OF VISION:
1. Vision enhances both wellbeing and enthusiasm in life
a. Vision imparts meaning and value to life
• If u know what you are living for, it becomes meaningful to life
• Life without vision becomes a burden
b. Vision imparts hope and excitement to life
• People wish for death when there is nothing to live for
• Visionless-ness is contributory to hopelessness
c. Vision imparts vitality and energy to life
• Vision has the capacity to prolong life; vision brings vibrancy
2. Vision imparts a sense of urgency and speed to life (Hab. 2:2)
a. Vision causes people to place very high value and premium on time
• People with vision know that destiny is time-sensitive
• People with vision achieve more with the same amount of time than other people
b. Vision brings deliverance from both indecision and procrastination
• People of vision think through their options diligently and make up their mind quickly
• People of vision are people on the move
c. Vision imparts the discipline of planning and scheduling of one’s life
• People of vision plans their actions and schedule their plans

3. Vision facilitates activity and productivity in life
• People of vision at times don’t have enough time for what they want to do
• Vision imparts potency and energy for productivity (Hab. 2:2)
• It is one thing to be interested in doing the right thing but it is another thing to be energized to do the right thing; vision supplies both the interest and the energy
• People of vision are people of energy
4. Vision enhances mental resourcefulness and creative wisdom (Matt. 6:22-23)
a. Vision floods he mind with light
• If you know what to do with your life, your brain gets to work on how to get it done
• The absence of vision equals he abundance of confusion
b. The visionary mind is the breeding ground for creative ideas
c. Vision expedites the decision-making process
5. Vision imparts character and discipline to life
a. Vision transforms life from the inside out (2Cor. 3:18; Gen. 30:37-38)
• Vision transforms a person’s life into a character consistent with a vision they see
b. Vision imparts caution and control to action (Prov. 29:18)
c. Vision imparts the capacity to do what is required in order to achieve what is desired (1Cor. 9:24-27)
People of vision have enough discipline to say no to fun and yes to work
6. Vision imparts tenacity, resilience and persistence to life
COUNSEL:
1. Walk in vision by looking into Scripture (2Cor. 3:18)
2. Walk in vision by hanging around the Presence of God (Ps. 36:9)
3. Walk in vision by connecting the Spirit of wisdom and revelation (Eph. 1:16-17)
