TOPIC: ENCOUNTERING HIM MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
TEXT : MATTHEW 14 : 13 - 21
The continuous relationship one has with another depends to a large extent on the mutual benefit derived from such experience. And what does it mean to encounter? It means to meet someone or find something unexpectedly. It means to confront someone or something, notably face to face. It also means to engage in conflict as with an enemy. But for our context, we shall be looking at it from the perspective of "encounter",which means to meet someone. In the world and in life generally, there are many troubles and challenges but there are people, when you meet them those situation will be change for good. In our text, the disciples were faced with such difficulty as how to feed a large crowd. In their confused state they linked up with Jesus and a great difference emerged. have you encountered Him in your life , in your situations and challenges? Let us discuss more on this through this study.

1. WHAT ARE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO BE TAKEN TO ENCOUNTER JESUS?

ANSWER
(a) From Matthew 6:33, 11:28, we would understand that one of the steps to be taken is seek the kingdom, which is to be born again.
(b) From the passages again we would understand that another key there is prayer, meeting with Him in the place of prayer is a step to take in other to encounter divine Grace and Intervention.
(c) In our main text, you will find out that the people have been with Jesus all day, they might have gotten other things to do, but they forsook all to be with Jesus. you must be ready to spend time in the presence of God, they were there without food but did not complain, a heart that is ready for an encounter with God must be able to stay in the presence of God without grumbling, should also be able to wait on the Lord in patience, with fasting. That heart must forsake everything and follow The Lord Jesus with the whole of their heart.
2. MENTION WITH BIBLE REFERENCE THOSE THAT ENCOUNTERED HIM, AND THE DIFFERENCE RECORDED IN THEIR LIFE.
They are so numerous that we can't just mention all.

3. WHAT CAN HINDER HIS ENCOUNTER FROM MAKING DIFFERENCE IN OUR LIVES?
(Matt 6:25,30 ; 14:31, mark 11:24-25, luke 8:25, john 14:27b)
From the question you would understand that it is possible for you to encounter JESUS but then you won't see the result of it. take a look at a case where a mighty program would be held, thousands who came for the program got healing but then they are people who back the way they came without their healing.
Below are some of the reason
(a) sin/impurity.
(b) unforgiveness.
(c) doubt.
(d) unbelieve.
(e) fear.
(f) worry.

CONCLUSION
Problems/challenges must arise in a mans life, even unto Christians but who you encounter matters (psalm 34:19). Only when humanity encounters divinity that there can be permanent difference - psalm 91:15. Jesus encourages us to remain in Him, john 15:5; no matter the situation we are facing, if we remain in Him at the appointed time He will bring JOY and that difference you long for. If GOD can give Job double of all his loses, He can do the same unto us. seek and wait with Joy the difference of double blessing is coming your way in JESUS NAME. AMEN.
