PRAYERSCRIPTURE READING: James 5:16

Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
SERVICE OBJECTIVE:
* Understanding that which guarantees both success and answer in prayer
*It is important to be prayerful but it is far more important to pray aright and not amiss
*It is not the volume of prayer that determines the value/impact of prayer
*The length of prayer does not determine the strength or weight of prayer
*Those who pray are many but those that pray and experience victory in prayer are few (Jam. 4:3)
SECRETS OF EFFECTIVE PRAYER:
1. Righteousness of life (Jam. 5:16; Ps. 66:18; Isa. 59:1-2; Hab. 1:13)
1a. Guilt destroys the force of prayer
Righteousness imparts audacity and unrighteousness imparts timidity at the place of prayer
1b. Guilt destroys the faith of prayer
It is very important to keep the conscience clear at the place of prayer; where the conscience is clear, access is guaranteed
i. Iniquity establishes a wall of separation between humanity and Divinity
ii. Iniquity limits the delivering hands of the Almighty
iii. Iniquity hides the Face of God from man
iv. Sin is a spiritual sound-proof of man’s voice/life
The purity of the conscience determines the power of prayer
When conscience is defiled, access is denied

2. Desperation and passion of heart (Jam. 5:16; Jer. 29:13; Ps. 63:1-2)
When your focus is single and your heart is on fire, your voice must be heard
Desperation and passion of heart means, at the place of prayer, you mean what you say and you say what you mean
Desperation and passion of heart is the possession of a determination that can’t be dissuaded
In case you are not desperate enough, don’t rush to prayer yet
i. Desperation and passion of heart refers to the elimination of ease (Amos 6:1)
Desperation and passion of heart also translates into sacrifice – sacrifice of food, and of sleep
The passion in your heart in prayer or for God will determine your portion on the earth (Hos. 6:3)
Prayer must be answered when you are not ready to do without the answer; when you refuse to take ‘no’ for an answer
3. Kingdom focus (Matt. 6:33; 1Sam. 1:11; Jam. 4:3; Ps. 122:9; 132:1-5; 1Chron. 29:1-5)
There is a Kingdom dimension to prayer that makes answers guaranteed
Tie what you are looking for to what you want to do for the Kingdom
Any desire you have that is only for the benefit of your flesh, the answers will not come (Jam. 4:3)
If your prayer has a benefit for the Kingdom, it must be answered (Matt. 6:33)
Let the Kingdom component of your prayer increase and the answers must be guaranteed (Ps. 122:9)

4. Word revelation (Hos. 14:2; Jer. 1:11-12)
To turn to the Lord, you go with words
Revelation content must be heavy in intercession/supplication to guarantee manifestation
Revelation is a sure guarantee for possession; if it is revealed to you, it can belong to you (Deut. 29:29)
Let revelation undergird your intercession and robe your supplication (1John 5:14)
When your prayer is Word-loaded, it is answer guaranteed
The revelation of your right imparts you might to fight in order to enforce that right (Isa. 60:1)
Pray with light; don’t use sentiment to pray, use revelation!
5. Faith and confidence (Jam. 1:6-8; Isa. 46:10; Heb. 6:12; Job 14:14)
Prayer without faith is like bone without muscle, it cannot accomplish anything
Faithless prayer is useless prayer; it is futile
Praying by faith is being assured that your prayer is being answered even before you prayed; it is praying from an answer point of view
Any time you are in a situation and it seems like God is silent, God has watched the film of your life before and He is not afraid because He knows you are going to win the fight! (Isa. 46:10)
Faith is restful assurance that the answer is guaranteed
Praying in faith means that your prayer and your action are united
Faith is approaching prayer with a conviction beyond confusion
Faith is the refusal to give up (Hab. 2:2-3)
6. Forgiveness in heart (Mark 11:24-26)
Every time the devil brings offence into your life, it is a strategy to destroy your prayer life, among other things
When forgiveness becomes tough, ask for grace
PRAYERS
Father, Thank You for Your Word to me tonight. Father, I receive the grace to walk in faith and confidence; I receive the grace to maintain Kingdom focus in all my asking; I ask for the grace for righteousness and uprightness of life. I receive that grace now!
Father, turn every counsel of Ahithophel against my life, my family, my destiny, the Church and Nigeria, to foolishness in Jesus’ Name (2Sam. 15:31)
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I ask that You frustrate every counsel of Ahithophel and every conspiracy from the pit of hell to distract me; oh you evil counsel and conspiracy, today, I command you, by the fire of the Holy Ghost, SCATTER!
Father, I receive the grace to forgive and release every offender like You do; I receive that grace now in Jesus’ Name
Thank You Lord for answers to prayers

- Systems are put under pressure, they lose peace sleep and rest until what is yours is released into your hands
- Any disease in your body is flushed out now by the Communion!
